Current Year Homestead Benefit.
Most eligible homeowners will receive their homestead benefit as a credit applied to property tax bills in August 2013. Those homeowners who either sold their home prior to filing the homestead benefit application, or whose principal residence was a unit in a co-op or continuing care retirement community will be issued a benefit in the form of a check or direct deposit in August2013. Tenants will not receive a rebate. The deadline for filing applications was December 14, 2012.
